The Bono Regional Office of the National Pensions Authority, in partnership with the German Development Cooperation (GIZ), conducted a sensitization program in the Municipality of the Region. The focus was on educating informal sector workers, particularly those in the Technical and Vocational Education Training () sector, about the Tier Three (personal) Pension Scheme.

More than 500 workers attended the session, where they were informed about the importance of joining the pension scheme and saving for their future financial security. Similar sensitization programs were organized for workers in the Municipality.

Mr. William Ohene-Adjei, the Bono, , and Regional Manager of the NPRA, emphasized the relevance of the Tier Three pension scheme for informal sector workers. He dispelled the misconception that pension schemes were only for formal sector workers and encouraged everyone to contribute to their future financial stability.

Mr. Ohene-Adjei highlighted that the Tier Three pension scheme provided opportunities for various artisanal workers and informal sector workers to contribute. He stressed the importance of managing finances well and contributing to the pension scheme to ensure financial security during old age.

Contributors to the Tier Three pension scheme can contribute as low as GHC5, providing a means for individuals to save for their future needs. Mr. Ohene-Adjei emphasized the importance of planning for old age, as many people regretted not doing so during their active working years.

Madam Fatima Gberbie, Junior Communications Officer of GIZ, reaffirmed the Cooperation's commitment to human development in Ghana. She pledged continued collaboration with the National Pensions Authority to further promote financial security and stability among informal sector workers.
