In response to recent media reports hinting at a ban on its operations in Nigeria, the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has issued a media release seeking to dispel any misconceptions surrounding the matter.
The university's management expressed deep concern over the circulating reports and aimed to provide unequivocal clarification on key points:
Contrary to the circulating reports, UEW categorically stated that it has not engaged in any collaboration with educational institutions in Nigeria over the last decade.
The management clarified that the university does not have satellite campuses, physical establishments, or remote operations within Nigeria.
Additionally, UEW affirmed that it holds no affiliations with any educational institution or entity in Nigeria to award degrees.
UEW emphasized its commitment to a transparent and direct admission process for foreign applicants, refuting any engagement or collaboration with agents, representatives, or intermediaries in Nigeria or elsewhere.
The university issued a stern warning, stating that any individual or entity claiming to represent UEW in such a capacity is engaging in fraudulent activities and does not have the university's endorsement or authorization.
UEW reiterated its commitment to delivering quality education solely at its esteemed campuses in Ghana.
The media release emphasized the importance of verifying information from credible sources to prevent misconceptions and misinformation.
