During his visit to Ghana, President Hakainde Hichilema expressed his commitment to facilitating the operations of the Jospong Group of Companies (JGC) in 's waste and technology sectors.

He praised Ghana's efforts, led by Jospong, in effectively tackling waste management challenges and creating value from waste.

President Hichilema addressed leaders of the Jospong Group during a visit to the Compost and Recycling Plant (ACARP). He emphasized the shift in focus among African leaders from politics to creating opportunities for the African people, highlighting the new paradigm for development.

Assuring the JGC of his support, President Hichilema stated that it is the responsibility of African governments to foster the growth of African businesses that generate employment for their people.

He pledged to establish a committee within the Zambian Presidency to coordinate with the Jospong team and commence work promptly.

Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, Executive Chairman of JGC, welcomed President Hichilema and his delegation, noting that a significant portion of African waste is organic waste, which can be converted into fertilizer. He highlighted Jospong's expertise in managing various waste types, including plastics, leather, glass, textiles, and e-waste.

Dr Agyepong assured the Zambian President of his company's commitment to implementing waste recycling plants and mechanisms to address the waste challenges in Zambia's cities.

The Zambian President was accompanied by Ministers for Tourism, Rodney Sikumba, Mines and Minerals, Ms Margaret Ekua Prah, Ghana's Ambassador to Zambia, and members of the diplomatic corps.
