, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (), has called on the Minority in to stand firm against any efforts by the government to impose additional hardships on Ghanaians leading up to the December polls.

Speaking to Minority MPs in , , Mahama emphasized the critical role the Minority plays in preventing the government from inflicting pain and implementing harsh policies on the citizens.

Mahama stated, “Your return is opportune and timely, as it accords you an opportunity to maintain even greater vigilance and oversight over a government that is becoming increasingly desperate and, with no doubt, attempting to ramp Draconian policies down the throats of Ghanaians.”

He commended the Minority for their efforts, stating, “On the evidence of what we have seen so far, I believe I speak for the generality of Ghanaians when I say that you in the Minority have lived up to expectations.”

Mahama's call comes in the context of a plea for the Minority to be vigilant and resist potential measures that could adversely affect the well-being of the people ahead of the upcoming elections.
