Ghana’s national football team, the Black Stars, has kicked off their 2026 FIFA World Cup fundraising campaign with a spectacular start, raising over $10 million on the very first day.

Officials coordinating the drive emphasized that the funds will directly enhance player welfare, training facilities, travel logistics, and overall team preparedness ahead of the tournament.

“This overwhelming response demonstrates the solidarity of Ghanaians and friends of Ghana across the world. It is a powerful reminder of how sport can bring people together for a common cause,” a campaign spokesperson said.

The Black Stars’ fundraising milestone is being hailed as a historic achievement in Ghanaian sports history, setting a high benchmark for future campaigns. Organizers have pledged to maintain transparency in the use of funds and provide regular updates to all contributors.

With the campaign off to such a strong start, expectations are high that the Black Stars will enter the World Cup fully supported, both financially and morally, by the nation and its global community of fans.
