The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has visited schoolchildren injured in Thursday’s road crash on the Dzorwulu–Accra Mall stretch, assuring their families of the government’s full support.
The children are receiving treatment at the 37 Military Hospital after a collision involving a school bus and a tipper truck on July 30.

During the visit, Dr Lartey expressed sympathy to the victims and their families, stating that President John Dramani Mahama had directed the government to ensure the children receive the necessary medical care.
She assured parents that the government would cover the cost of treatment, allowing families to focus on supporting their children’s recovery.
The Minister also commended the Ghana National Fire Service, the Ghana Police Service, emergency responders and the medical staff of the 37 Military Hospital for their swift response to the incident.
She said investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing and pledged to visit other injured children receiving treatment at different health facilities.
