President Akufo-Addo urges commitment to rule of law on Ghana's Independence Day

President Nana Addo Dankwa has called on Ghanaians to prioritize the promotion of the rule of law, emphasizing its critical role in fostering economic prosperity and democratic stability.

Addressing the 67th independence anniversary parade in , , President underscored the importance of the rule of law in creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive. He emphasized that adherence to the rule of law should be universal and not selective, applicable to all aspects of life and to every citizen, irrespective of status or profession.

Asserting that prosperity cannot be achieved without upholding the rule of law, President Akufo-Addo cautioned against misconceptions of freedom that lead to disregard for rules and regulations. He emphasized the correlation between aspirations for prosperity and the discipline required to abide by the rule of law.

Furthermore, the President highlighted the imperative of environmental stewardship, urging Ghanaians to cherish and protect the natural resources that define the nation. He called for a paradigm shift in land use practices to ensure the preservation of Ghana's ecological heritage for future generations.

The President's remarks resonated with the theme of the independence anniversary celebration, “Our Democracy, Our Pride,” underscoring the intrinsic link between democracy, rule of law, and national development.
