President Akufo-Addo urges commitment to rule of law and environmental stewardship

President Nana Addo Dankwa , speaking at the 67th independence anniversary parade in , , emphasized the critical role of the rule of law in fostering economic prosperity. Addressing the nation, he underscored the necessity of upholding the rule of law across all facets of society, stressing its applicability to individuals at all levels, from ordinary citizens to public officials, traditional leaders, and even the President himself.

Highlighting the interconnectedness between the rule of law and national prosperity, President argued that adherence to legal norms and regulations is indispensable for the country's advancement. He cautioned against selective application of the rule of law, emphasizing its universal relevance for maintaining order and facilitating progress.

The President lamented the disregard for environmental preservation, noting the neglect of Ghana's natural resources such as forests, rivers, and vegetation. He urged for a shift in land management practices to ensure sustainable usage, expressing concern that future generations would inherit a degraded environment if current trends continue.

Echoing the sentiment of environmental stewardship, President Akufo-Addo emphasized the need for responsible land use to preserve Ghana's natural heritage. He stressed that true love for the country entails respecting and safeguarding its ecosystems for the benefit of present and future generations.
