Aspiring New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications Director, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has criticised the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, claiming the cost of living has increased since it assumed office in 2024.
In a Facebook post, Mr Aboagye said Ghanaians are paying more for electricity, water, transport, school fees and food, while unemployment has also risen.

His comments follow the presentation of the 2026 Mid-Year Budget Review by Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, who stated that the economy was on track, with lower interest rates, a stable cedi and improved macroeconomic indicators.
Rejecting the government’s assessment, Mr Aboagye argued that despite 18 months in office, the economy had failed to improve the living conditions of ordinary Ghanaians.
He further claimed that the country had “wasted time” under the current administration and expressed confidence that the NPP would return to power in 2028.
