Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has received a delegation from the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly at her office, led by the Metropolitan Chief Executive, George Arthur, and including the Members of Parliament for Cape Coast North and Cape Coast South.
The delegation extended New Year greetings to the Vice President and expressed hope for strength and clarity as the government continues efforts to reset the nation.

During the meeting, the assembly presented an eight-year development plan for the Cape Coast Metropolis. Key proposals outlined in the plan include the refurbishment and eventual operation of the Evans Atta Mills Library, as well as the rehabilitation of the Cape Coast Metropolitan Hospital.
Discussions also focused on how government support could help make Cape Coast more vibrant and economically viable, alongside the role of local fundraising initiatives in supporting development projects.
The Vice President urged the assembly to involve residents of Cape Coast in decision-making processes to ensure community ownership and commitment to development efforts. She also emphasised the need for the assembly to balance its focus on developing Cape Coast with the broader goal of national development.
