Beware of Africa Policy Lens

Beware of Africa Policy Lens

Last year, I spent a lot of effort exposing the so-called Outcomes International when they were cooking polls and surveys to project Bawumia, in sharp contrast to all credible polls. For instance, they predicted Bawumia was going to win the NPP primary by 73%, with Kennedy Agyepong following with 7%. However, Bawumia managed 61% (-11% of Outcomes International’s prediction), while Kennedy Agyepong accrued 37% (+30% over their prediction). This supported our claim that the polls were fake.

They also claimed Bawumia would lead the 2024 presidential election with 49% to force a runoff. He lost with 40%.

Later, we got to know that the beneficial owner behind Outcomes International (Misiri Sa-Adu) was a close associate of Akbar, who is an aide to Bawumia. The spokesperson was a NADMO Director in Offinso, who was also an active NPP communicator. An investigation conducted by Fact-Check Ghana showed that Outcomes International was registered in 2022, ostensibly to undermine the polls published by Global Info Analytics. Outcomes International claimed their address was 21 Samora Machel Rd, Asylum Down, Accra, but when you visit that location, they don’t exist.

After using these fake polling agencies to deceive Bawumia, they have again, like chameleons, gone to create another fake polling agency named Africa Policy Lens, created in March, with about 183 Facebook followers. If you visit the website, you will see that the fellows behind Africa Policy Lens include Frank Bannor, Dr. Zaato, and Dr. Domfe, all of whom have had embarrassing displays on national television defending the NPP.

Just like Outcomes International, they have also started putting out ridiculous fake polling results without revealing their methodology or the processes that went into their polls. For instance, in their last publication, they claimed that Bawumia dominates the NPP primaries but that it is NDC people who want Kennedy Agyepong. They have not shown us how and where they determined that NDC members are pushing Kennedy Agyepong. They have also indicated that 70.6% of NPP members prefer Bawumia. Again, we don’t know whom they interviewed or within what period. Bawumia could only manage 61% in the last primaries, but somehow, after an embarrassing performance in the 2024 election, we are supposed to believe that a whopping 70% of those he led into this monumental election defeat still believe in his leadership.

Make of it what you want.
