The Chairman of the Constitutional, Legal, and Parliamentary Affairs Committee of Parliament, Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi, has expressed confidence that the committee will complete the amendments to the anti-gay bill by February or March this year.
The bill, officially known as the Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill, seeks to criminalize LGBT activities.
Introduced by MP Samuel Nartey George, the bill has faced controversy, with ongoing discussions and amendments in Parliament.
Anyimadu-Antwi stated that when Parliament resumes, the committee will address the remaining amendments in the bill, which spans clauses one to 24.
He expressed optimism that the process would be completed in the coming months.
