OSP reveal more cash found in Cecilia Dapaah's multiple residences

The case involving former Sanitation Minister has taken a fresh twist as the () conducted searches at three of her properties following the recent revelation of stolen funds by her house helps.

Properties situated in Cantonments, Abelemkpe, and Tesano were subject to investigation. During the search at the Abelemkpe residence, an astounding US$590,000 in cash was discovered. Additionally, GH¢2,730,000 in cash was found at the same location.

The seized these cash amounts as part of ongoing investigations. Furthermore, details of sums found in her accounts at Prudential Bank and Societe Generale Ghana were disclosed.

The OSP disclosed the frozen bank account amounts: $5 million and ¢48 million in 's Prudential Bank accounts, as well as ¢1 million in investments and ¢700,000 in cash in her Societe Generale account.

An High Court is set to rule on the confirmation or otherwise of the freezing of these bank accounts on Thursday, August 17.

House helps Patience Botwe and Sarah Agyei are facing charges for alleged theft from the residence of and her husband, Daniel Osei Kuffour, between July and October 2022.

Botwe and Agyei are accused of stealing various personal effects, including clothing, handbags, perfumes, and jewellery, amounting to millions of cedis.

Other individuals, including Botwe's current and former boyfriends and her father, are also facing charges related to the crime.

Ms Botwe was reportedly caught entering the couple's room with a duplicate key, leading to her arrest. Subsequent investigations unveiled that the stolen funds were used to purchase properties and expensive items.

In light of these developments, President Nana Addo Dankwa has appointed to assume the role of Minister for following Cecilia Dapaah's resignation.
