The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has issued a stern warning to parliamentary aspirants ahead of Saturday's primaries, cautioning against busing or camping delegates.
The party's General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, announced the guidelines on Monday, January 22, and emphasized that aspirants adopting such practices will face sanctions.
He also advised delegates against using phones to capture their ballots and urged all members to ensure free and fair elections.
The NPP is taking measures to settle outstanding petitions filed by disgruntled party members, and elections in the Nhyiaeso Constituency will proceed following the discontinuation of a court case.
Additionally, party officials, led by Mr Frimpong Kodua, visited the Manhyia Palace in response to alleged comments by the party's Ashanti Regional Chairman against the Asantehene.
The General Secretary cautioned against derogatory remarks towards the Chieftaincy institution, urging NPP supporters to refrain from such utterances. The party is committed to ensuring a smooth and fair parliamentary primary process on January 27.
