Goaso, Region, the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (), has urged journalists and media practitioners to prioritize the prevailing peace of the country as the 2024 elections approach. Speaking at the Media Conference in Goaso, Frimpong emphasized that the media plays a crucial role in shaping the nation and urged practitioners to exercise caution in their reportage to avoid triggering tensions and violence.

Frimpong highlighted the importance of media freedom and stated that the is committed to ensuring a violence-free general election. He called on journalists to sieve their stories and media content to prevent unnecessary tensions and disturbances to national peace and stability. Frimpong reminded the media of their power to either make or unmake the nation and urged them to use this power responsibly.

Addressing the theme of the conference, “Development of the Ahafo Region: The Role of Media,” Frimpong stressed the responsibility of the media in deepening national peace and social cohesion. He acknowledged the NPP's commitment to enhancing and safeguarding the rights of the media, citing the repeal of the criminal libel law during President 's government as evidence of the party's support for media freedom.

Frimpong expressed confidence in the NPP's flagbearer, Vice President Dr , and stated that the party is ready to accept the decision of the Ghanaian voting population in the upcoming election. He emphasized that without peace, the country cannot develop as anticipated, making the role of the media in promoting national peace crucial.

George Yaw Boakye, the Ahafo Regional Minister, highlighted the government's achievements in reshaping road networks and improving physical infrastructure development, especially in health and education. He commended the media for propagating social and poverty intervention policies and urged them to showcase the economic potential of the region to attract investors.

The Ahafo Media Conference, attended by 45 journalists and media practitioners in the region, served as a platform to discuss the media's role in the development of the Ahafo Region and the importance of peace in fostering growth.
