Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, the 2020 running mate of the National Democratic Congress () flagbearer, has voiced her concern over the mass exodus of Ghana's youth in search of better opportunities abroad. Speaking during the launch of the “Voice Out, Vote Out” initiative in , she emphasized the need to address the issue and presented the 's proposed policy as a solution.

She pledged that the next NDC government, if elected, would focus on generating more employment opportunities to break the cycle of mass emigration. highlighted the challenges faced by the youth seeking better prospects abroad and questioned the existing alternatives, stating, “Just drive around most of the embassies, and you will weep. These are people we have trained, and they have skills, and their desire is to get out. Who is to blame, and what alternative are we offering? Our alternative lies in the .”
