The 1998 Year Group of Senior High School (NAVASCO) in the Kassena-Nankana Municipality, known as Nabia 1998, has undertaken a renovation project to mark its 25th Anniversary. The alumni group renovated a four-unit Visual Arts block at the school, addressing issues such as leaking roofs, broken louvre blades, cracked floors, and overall refurbishment.

Mr. Sylvester Minyila, Chairman of the Project Committee, stated that NAVASCO played a significant role in their academic journey, and the renovation project was a way for the alumni to give back to their alma mater. The refurbished Visual Arts block, previously in a deplorable state, was handed over to the school's management in a brief ceremony.

The project, estimated at GH¢68,000.00, aimed to enhance the learning environment for current students and contribute to the overall development of NAVASCO. Mr. Minyila expressed the group's commitment to continue supporting the school, indicating that this renovation was just the beginning of their contributions.

During an interaction with current students, members of the Nabia 1998 group encouraged them to focus on their studies, avoid deviant behaviour, and respect school authority. The Headmistress of NAVASCO, Madam Mercy Babachuweh, expressed gratitude on behalf of the school community for the alumni's initiative to refurbish the classroom block.

Madam Babachuweh reminded the Nabia 1998 group of a previous pledge to provide the school with a modern grinding mill and urged them to fulfil that commitment. She also highlighted challenges faced by certain schoolhouses, calling on specific alumni groups to address those issues for the betterment of the students.

The NAVASCO alumni's continuous contributions were acknowledged, with the Headmistress commending all Nabia Year Groups for their diverse support in the development of the school. The ceremony celebrated the 25th Anniversary of the Nabia 1998 Year Group and exemplified the spirit of alumni collaboration for the improvement of educational facilities.
