The Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) has rejected preliminary objections raised by the Finance Minister and Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng, Secretary of the National Cathedral Board of Trustees, in relation to a GH¢2.6 million payment to JNS Talent – a company owned by Rev. Kusi Boateng.
CHRAJ's ruling affirms its commitment to pursuing the investigation following a complaint filed by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu.
In response to the objections, CHRAJ stated that it is possible for the corporate veil of a company to be pierced in certain instances. This allows for an examination of those individuals who may be directing and controlling the company's activities.
Mr Okudzeto Ablakwa's petition to CHRAJ in January 2023 raised concerns about conflict of interest and alleged criminal dealings involving Rev. Victor Kusi-Boateng.
The petition claimed that GH¢2.6 million was transferred from the National Cathedral Secretariat to JNS Talent Centre Limited, a company owned by Rev. Kusi-Boateng under a secondary identity, Kwabena Adu Gyamfi.
According to Mr. Ablakwa, Rev. Kusi-Boateng and Kwabena Adu Gyamfi are the same person, and the use of multiple identities and passports was part of his modus operandi.
