Mr Emmanuel Gemegah, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Keta in the Volta Region, has shown support for Anlo-Afiadenyigba Senior High Secondary School (Afiasec) by donating essential items worth thousands of cedis. The donation includes 100 dual desks and two 5,000-litre poly tanks.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Mr Gemegah stated that the donation aimed to alleviate challenges faced by the school, particularly in the areas of furniture and water supply. The items were funded from the Municipal Assembly's Internally Generated Fund in response to a request from the school.
Mr Gemegah emphasized that the provision of the poly tanks was a collaborative effort with Mr Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpe, the Member of Parliament for the area. He acknowledged the increasing student population in schools and expressed the municipality's commitment to gradually addressing challenges in the education sector.
The Headmaster of Anlo-Afiadenyigba Senior High School, Mr. Leonard Nyatsoe, received the items on behalf of the school's management and students. He expressed gratitude for the donation and assured me that the desks and water tanks would be used for their intended purpose. Mr. Nyatsoe also appealed to individuals, old students, philanthropists, corporate entities, and the government to help address other challenges facing the school.
