Mahama vows to modernize agriculture, promote 24-hour economy during Oti Region tour

Mr. , the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (), has pledged to modernize agriculture and promote a if elected into office.

During his two-day “Building Ghana we want Tour” in , Region, Mr Mahama emphasized the importance of mechanization centres in the region to enhance agriculture and improve livelihoods. He envisioned these centres benefiting various sectors, creating jobs, and increasing productivity while providing convenience and comfort for citizens.

Mr Mahama outlined his party's commitment to investing heavily in agriculture and agro-processing, aiming to boost yield, increase farmers' income levels, and add value to crops for export to bolster revenue generation.

Speaking on his proposed policy, Mr Mahama explained its objective to enable businesses to operate three shifts per day. To support this initiative, he pledged to enact new laws, including labour laws and tax incentives, to facilitate continuous business operations.

Additionally, Mr Mahama promised favourable tax policies, stimulus packages, and financial assistance for specific industries like agro-processing and manufacturing. He emphasized that security, sanitation, and environmental protection would be critical components of the 24-hour economy policy.
