The Member of for Asante Akim Central, Kwame Anyimadu Antwi, has strongly refuted allegations of reporting the Chief Executive Officer of the National and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, to the for alleged money distribution to delegates.

Mr. Nkansah was apprehended on January 10, 2024, based on an alleged report made to the . Contrary to claims made by Felix Amakye, the Asante Akim Central constituency secretary, Mr. Anyimadu-Antwi denied any involvement in the report and expressed surprise at the accusations.

In an interview with Umaru Sanda Amadu, Mr. Anyimadu-Antwi accused Felix Amakye of biased support for a contender and spreading misinformation.

He emphasized that he had no knowledge of the arrest and pointed out that Amakye had previously made allegations on Facebook regarding financial payments by his preferred candidate to delegates.

“I have no clue about what the secretary is alleging, and it is about time for us to do the elections, and the primaries are still around the corner, and this is not a do-or-die affair.

The secretary has taken sides with one of the contenders and has been speaking passionately, and there is pain in the constituency speaking to delegates.”

Regarding allegations of personally distributing GH¢300 to delegates, Mr. Anyimadu-Antwi denied it, stating that while he gives presents annually, he does not recall the specific amount distributed, as this is done by other executives.

“I won't recall how much was given to the constituents because, sometimes, I give it to other executives who do the sharing.”
