Kumawu NDC women’s organizer expelled for supporting NPP’s Alan Kyerematen’s candidacy

Madam Akua Afriyie, a member of the National Democratic Congress () in Kumawu, has been dismissed from the party due to her public endorsement of Flagbearer hopeful Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen.

Despite her affiliation with the opposition , Afriyie openly expressed her admiration for 's presidential candidacy within the .

The video of her endorsement gained significant attention during the Kumawu by-election, leading to her subsequent removal from the NDC.

In the video, Afriyie stated, “Though she was an NDC member, if the NPP presented Alan as their flagbearer in the 2024 elections, she would gladly vote for him.” She highlighted Alan's vision and potential to offer hope to the youth and the nation.

In response to her dismissal, Akua Afriyie identified herself as a floating voter, emphasizing her support for Kyerematen. She warned that if the NPP does not nominate , she will abstain from participating in the 2024 elections.

The delegates from Kumawu, Afram Plains, and Effiduase Asokore constituencies convened to voice their strong opposition to Kyerematen's candidacy, declaring that this time, he will not win.

They underscored their vigilance and determination to ensure that no surprises occur in the upcoming elections, asserting that it is Alan's time to lead the party without obstacles.
