Krachi West to witness development with sod-cutting for ultramodern market

Mr. Emmanuel Kajal Jalulah, the Municipal Chief Executive for Krachi West, has initiated the construction of an ultramodern market and several other infrastructural projects aimed at enhancing business activities in the municipality.

The projects are part of the -funded Gulf of Northern Regions Social Cohesion (SOCO) intervention, with eight initiatives scheduled for construction this year.

Implemented by various ministries, including Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development, Finance, , and Gender, Children and Social Protection, along with the , the projects encompass drilling and mechanisation of boreholes, market construction, summer huts, and a compound with a two-unit nurses quarters.

Other projects include the supply of 100 wooden dual desks, the construction of a mini volleyball pitch, a 1.2-dam double-pipe culvert, and a 12-bedroom lodge.

The construction will be carried out by companies such as Del Infrastructure Ltd, Difference One Ltd, Multi-Lead Ltd, High North Ltd, and New Era Company Ltd, with an expected completion timeframe of six months.

Mr Jalulah emphasized the importance of engaging local artisans to create job opportunities and urged the community to support the smooth execution of the projects.

He commended President 's government for its commitment to delivering on promises and expressed confidence that the SOCO projects would bring tangible development to the residents.

The Municipal Chief Executive revealed that motorbikes had already been provided to community facilitators to enhance their mobility and efficiency.

He urged them to maintain the bikes to ensure they serve their intended purpose effectively.
