Mr. Kennedy Agyepong, one of the Flagbearer Aspirants of the New Patriotic Party (), has expressed his condolences to former President on the passing of former First Lady Theresa Aba Kufuor.

During his visit to the former President's home, the Lawmaker fondly remembered the late former First Lady as a welcoming and warm-hearted individual who embraced everyone with open arms. He shared personal anecdotes of his visits to her home, highlighting her hospitality.

Mr. Agyepong spoke of her calming influence, stating, “When I speak harsh, my old man will not talk to me. He will call the wife and say, ‘that's your son,' meaning I have erred, and she will talk to me about it.

Yes, sometimes makes us go astray. She has been good to me, that's why I made time to come and pay homage though I have lost my father, too.”

In addition to Mr. Agyepong, numerous individuals, including Members of and top government officials, have visited the former President's residence to offer their condolences.

Following the passing of the former First Lady, the Government ordered that all flags be flown at half-mast for a week in her honor.

A book of condolence has been made available at the former President's home for those wishing to pay their respects.

President Nana Addo Dankwa expressed his deep sadness at the of the former First Lady's passing.

Theresa Kufuor, who served as first lady from January 1, 2001, to December 31, 2008, is particularly credited with introducing free maternal healthcare in Ghana.

She passed away at her Peduase residence on Sunday evening, October 1, 2023, at the age of 87.
