Kumasi – Kennedy Agyapong, a presidential hopeful within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has alleged that he was approached by Vice President Dr. Kumasi's campaign team with a bribery attempt to accept an offer as Dr. Bawumia's running mate. Agyapong claimed that he refused the offer.
These startling accusations were made by Mr Agyapong at Kumasi's Jubilee Park in the Ashanti region following a march organized by his supporters.
During the event, Agyapong also accused Dr Bawumia of engaging in activities that had the potential to destabilize the NPP.
Mr. Agyapong emphasized that Vice President Bawumia and his team were intimidating party members who did not support him.
The march, which drew scores of residents from the Ashanti region, aimed to express support for Agyapong's bid as the NPP's flagbearer in the upcoming 2024 general elections.
Many participants in the march cited concerns about the current economic situation in the country as their motivation for backing Kennedy Agyapong.
These individuals, primarily NPP sympathizers, expressed their belief that Agyapong is the candidate best suited to help the party retain power in the upcoming elections.
