In Dubai, a separate incident at Dubai International Airport resulted in four airport staff being hurt after debris and impact from intercepted aerial threats struck part of the facility.
The attacks, part of a broader Iranian retaliation campaign, have forced temporary suspension of flight operations at both airports and triggered a closure of much of the Gulf’s airspace. Airlines including Emirates and Etihad have grounded flights, leading to widespread travel disruption.
Regional authorities say air defence systems have intercepted a large number of incoming projectiles, though falling fragments have caused collateral damage and casualties in and around aviation hubs.
The strikes have also damaged other civilian infrastructure and deepened fears over the conflict’s spillover into key economic and transport centres.
The UAE has called for calm, urging residents and visitors to rely on official information as emergency services remain on high alert and continue to respond to incidents.
Investigations and damage assessments are ongoing amid a tense security environment in the Gulf
