The U.S. Embassy in Ghana has announced the successful completion of Artemis II, describing it as a historic milestone in space exploration.
The mission, led by NASA, saw four astronauts-Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen-fly around the Moon and return to Earth on April 10, 2026.

Launched on April 1, 2026, the crew reached a record distance of 252,756 miles from Earth, the farthest humans have travelled, and captured images of the Moon during the flight.
The Embassy noted a Ghana connection to the mission, highlighting that astronaut Christina Koch previously studied at the University of Ghana, Legon, as an exchange student.
The mission coincides with the United States‘ 250th anniversary and reflects ongoing advancements in space exploration.
The Embassy encouraged Ghana to consider strengthening cooperation with the United States and NASA in the area of space exploration.
