The U.S. Embassy in Ghana has initiated discussions with Ghanaian authorities to support preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The meeting brought together Chargé d’Affaires Rolf Olson and Minister for Sports and Recreation Kofi Adams, alongside members of Ghana’s 2026 World Cup Oversight Committee.

Discussions focused on assessing Ghana’s readiness for the tournament and identifying areas for collaboration between Ghana and the United States.
Both sides explored opportunities to strengthen cooperation through sport, including football development, infrastructure, capacity building, and technical support.
The engagement also reviewed key preparation areas such as team development, logistics, and institutional coordination.
The meeting forms part of ongoing efforts to position Ghana for effective participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup through international cooperation.
