Accusations of bias have been denied by Samuel Atta Akyea, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee responsible for investigating a leaked tape discussing the removal of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr .

Lawyer Kwame Gyan, representing the IGP, accused Atta Akyea of unfair treatment, but the Abuakwa South MP refuted these claims, emphasizing that he has conducted the committee's affairs without prejudice.

Atta Akyea clarified the committee's decision not to allow members of the Police Service Management Board into the in-camera hearing on Tuesday, stating, “It will not be fair for non-witnesses to be present.”

He further questioned the logic behind admitting senior officers who were not going to speak during the session, emphasizing the need for the in-camera proceedings to maintain their intended privacy.
