Igniting Dreams Prize awards GH¢38,500 to Northern Ghana's top youth entrepreneurs: Ghana News

The Coalition for Positive Impact, organizers of the Igniting Dreams Prize, disbursed a total of GH¢38,500.00 during the sixth Igniting Dreams (ID24) Prize awards ceremony held in over the weekend.

The winners, recognized for their innovative businesses, received cash prizes to further support their ventures.

C-CARE, a special education provider for students with specific academic challenges in the , clinched the Gold Prize of GH¢12,000.00.

Gbentek Digital Solutions, an information technology start-up in the Region, secured the Silver Prize, receiving GH¢9,000.00. The Bronze Prize of GH¢7,000.00 went to Diva Farms, an organic vegetable production farm in the .

The Locker Room Sports, a Northern Region-based sportswear production and retail company, secured the Fourth Prize with a cash award of GH¢5,000.00.

Additionally, participants in the pitch competition who didn't secure the top prizes received GH¢1,000.00 each. ZebillaFarms in the Region was honored with the People's Choice Prize, earning GH¢1,500.00.

Out of 138 youth-led businesses in the northern regions that entered the award scheme, 10 outstanding businesses were shortlisted to pitch their ideas.

Mr. Maazu Bayuoni, the Founder and President of the Coalition for Positive Impact (CPI), highlighted the impact of the program, stating, “Since our establishment, we have been able to reach out to over 1,500 young people across the Northern belt and supported 30 young entrepreneurs with seed funding and business development training.”

Madam Maria Johana Yuorpor, the Chairperson of the ID24 Planning Committee, encouraged young participants to focus on making a positive impact on society, emphasizing the importance of knowledge gained from CPI seminars and training.

Superintendent Mr. Peter Lanchene Toobu (Rtd), the Member of for West, expressed his support for the Igniting Dreams Prize initiative, emphasizing the potential impact on young businesses. He encouraged innovation, change, and as essential factors for personal and societal improvement.

The event, held under the theme “Developing Northern Ghana through , Innovation, and Leadership,” received support from the Sangu Delle Foundation, Noni Hub, Rabito Clinic, DLight Space, Girls Initiative Ghana, and Steward Reigns Photography.
