A recent report by the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) revealed that Ghana's inflation rate decreased from 40.1% in August 2023 to 38.1% in September 2023.
The drop in inflation can be attributed to reduced prices of food and non-food items.
Food inflation experienced a decline from 51.9% in August to 49.4% in September, while non-food inflation decreased from 30.9% to 29.3% during the same period.
Government Statistician, Prof. Samuel Kobina Annim, expressed his optimism about this decline in inflation, considering it a favorable development for the nation's economy. A decrease in inflation indicates that the prices of goods and services are increasing slowly.
This trend can ultimately enhance purchasing power among consumers, thereby boosting economic activities in the country.
