Mr Anadem Amos Azantilow, a Financial and Corporate Accounting Teacher at Azantilow SHS, said the visit was meant to sensitise students to opportunities available at BTU. He noted that previous collaborations between the schools and the university had been beneficial, with several former students now employed after completing BTU programmes.
The students were received by Professor Emmanuel Caesar Ayamba, Dean of the School of Business and Management Studies, and a team of faculty members. They toured lecture halls, modern laboratories, the administration block, and the library complex.
During a forum, heads of various departments presented programme options to the students. Dr Chilala Osman, Head of Secretaryship and Management Studies, outlined degrees such as the BTech and HND in Secretaryship and Management Studies, as well as a Diploma in Business Administration.
Dr Fuseine Mahama, Head of the Accounting and Finance Department, highlighted programmes including BTech in Accounting with Computing, BSc in Computerised Accounting (Top-Up), HND in Accountancy, and HND in Banking and Finance.
In Marketing and Communication, Dr Benjamin Asunka Azembila introduced the BSc in Marketing and Communication Studies, BTech in Marketing (Top-Up), HND in Marketing, and a Diploma in Marketing and Communication.
For Procurement and Logistics Management, Dr Oswald Atiga presented MSc, BSc, BTech (Top-Up), HND, and Diploma programmes in Procurement and Supply Chain Management.
Professor Samuel Erasmus Alnaa, Vice Chancellor of BTU, encouraged the students to consider pursuing tertiary education at BTU, emphasising its qualified staff, modern infrastructure, and focus on entrepreneurship. He also urged parents to appreciate the benefits of choosing local institutions, citing financial savings and safety compared to sending children to distant cities.
“BTU is equipped to provide world-class training across multiple disciplines that not only meet job market requirements but also position graduates to create their own businesses,” he said.
