Assin Manso SHS gears up for 60th anniversary celebration with major campus facelift and community engagements

Excitement is mounting at Assin Manso Senior High School (AMASS) as staff, students, and alumni intensify preparations for the school’s 60th anniversary celebration, slated for Monday, November 24, to Sunday, November 30, 2025.

The diamond jubilee, themed “Sixty Years of Impactful and Inspirational Education: The Role of Stakeholders,” is expected to attract dignitaries, traditional leaders, old students, and education stakeholders from across the country to celebrate the school’s growth and achievements since its establishment in 1965.

In the lead-up to the celebration, the campus has come alive with a flurry of activities. Management, in collaboration with the Old Students Association (AMOSU), has rolled out clean-up exercises, awareness campaigns, and various preparatory engagements ahead of the week-long event.

Several school facilities, including classroom blocks, dormitories, and science laboratories, are undergoing renovation as part of efforts to give AMASS a facelift before the anniversary.

Headmaster Mr Eric Nyarkoh expressed delight at the growing enthusiasm among students and alumni, noting that the anniversary represented a major milestone in the school’s academic journey and its tradition of moral discipline.

“This anniversary is not just about celebrating the past; it is also about envisioning the future. We are proud of how far Assin Manso SHS has come, and we want to use this occasion to rekindle our commitment to quality education,” he stated.

He revealed that the Old Students Association had pledged developmental support for the event, with various committees already coordinating cultural performances, sports activities, exhibitions, and thanksgiving services as part of the celebrations.

Students also expressed excitement, describing the preparations as a proud moment in the school’s history. “The school means a lot to us, and we can’t wait to showcase our talents during the anniversary,” a first-year student said.

As Assin Manso SHS counts down to its diamond jubilee, the entire Assin community is buzzing with anticipation, eager to celebrate an institution that has shaped generations over six decades of educational excellence.
