As a Journalist, I need you to write the information above into a straight-to-the-point news article. Apply perplexity and burstiness. Minimise the use of bullet points. A Communication Lecturer at Wisconsin International University College, Ghana, Mr Kofi Yeboah, has donated about 700 basic school books to the Miaso Krobo D/A Basic School in the Fanteakwa North District of the Eastern Region.

The donation, comprising textbooks for Basic 1–9 and storybooks for lower primary pupils, was made during a durbar attended by District Education officials, traditional leaders, opinion leaders, teachers, pupils, and parents on Thursday, October 23, 2025.

According to a press release issued by Mr. Yeboah and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the donation was made possible through the support of Adwinsa Publications (GH) Ltd and contributions from individuals, including Dr. Paul Kofi Fynn, Chancellor of Wisconsin International University College, Ghana, and Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA).

Mr Yeboah expressed gratitude to all who supported the initiative and urged others to emulate such gestures to uplift underprivileged schools and communities.

Reflecting on his connection to the school, he revealed that he completed his national service at Miaso Krobo D/A Basic School in 1992, where he was deeply moved by the poor learning conditions at the time.

“It has always been my wish to return to this school, and I’m happy that after 33 years, I’ve had the opportunity to come back and donate these books,” he said.

He recalled how the school once operated from mud-walled structures with palm frond roofs, forcing teachers to close classes whenever it rained.

“Today, I’m happy to see a beautiful school building with ceiling fans. There’s great progress, but we must continue to support the school with more learning tools such as computers,” he added.

Mr Yeboah encouraged both teachers and pupils to make effective use of the books and advised parents to invest in their children’s education.

Seth Kofi Darko, Fanteakwa North District Chief Inspector of Schools, who chaired the event, lauded Mr Yeboah for his generosity, while Head Teacher David Siame and Odikro Nana Kwabi Opoku also expressed appreciation.

They appealed to individuals and corporate bodies to extend further support to help develop the academic potential of pupils in the area.
