The victim suffered serious injuries to her right elbow and shoulder and is currently in a sling. She described the experience as “painful and frightening,” recalling difficulties breathing and escaping the crowd surge.
She is expected to return to the 37 Military Hospital in Accra for a medical review in the coming days.
Mr Agbavitor assured the family that both the party and the region would remain committed to her recovery.
“We will ensure she receives all the support and entitlements due her as a victim of this unfortunate situation,” he said.
He also donated funds to assist with her immediate medical and personal needs and conveyed warm regards from Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament for North Tongu, who is currently away on official duties.
The Regional Chairman emphasised his personal commitment to follow up on all promises made to victims of the stampede, pledging that Ms Zotorvi’s welfare would be monitored until full recovery.
