Otumfuo Destools Ahafo Kenyase No. 2 Paramount Chief After 92-Year Reign

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has destooled the Paramount Chief of Ahafo Kenyase No. 2, Odeneho Dadeako Kwabena Nsia Ababio, along with his elders.

The decision was taken on July 27, 2026. However, the Kontihene and the Okyeame were exempted from the destoolment.

Odeneho Dadeako Kwabena Nsia Ababio was regarded as the longest-reigning chief in the Asante Kingdom, having occupied the stool for 92 years.

The reasons for the Asantehene’s decision have not yet been disclosed.

The development marks the end of one of the longest and most significant traditional reigns in the history of Asanteman.
