The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed the appointment of former Norwich City and Brighton & Hove Albion manager, Chris Hughton, as the technical advisor for the Black Stars.
Hughton’s appointment comes after the dismissal of Milovan Rajevac following Ghana’s disappointing performance at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, where the team exited the tournament at the group stage.

In a statement released by the GFA, Otto Addo was named as the head coach of the newly formed Black Stars technical team, with Hughton joining as technical advisor.
The GFA also confirmed the inclusion of Aston Villa Under-23 coach George Boateng and Nordsjaelland coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani as members of the technical team.
The decision was approved by the GFA Executive Council during a meeting held in Accra on Wednesday, February 9, 2022.
The new technical team is expected to lead Ghana in the crucial 2022 FIFA World Cup play-off against Nigeria. The Black Stars will host the Super Eagles at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on March 24 before travelling to Abuja for the second leg on March 27, 2022.
