The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has begun a stakeholder engagement tour of the Volta Region, calling for sustained efforts to maintain peace and security across the country.
The tour started on Monday, June 1, 2026, with a courtesy call on Volta Regional Minister James Gunu at the Volta Regional Coordinating Council in Ho.

During the visit, Hon Muntaka said national development depends on peace and stability, stressing that security requires continuous engagement with stakeholders and public awareness on peaceful coexistence.
He stated that peace and security are shared responsibilities involving government institutions, traditional authorities, religious leaders and citizens.
The Interior Minister said the tour will provide an opportunity to engage local authorities and security agencies on strengthening security measures and addressing emerging challenges in the region.
The visit forms part of the Ministry’s broader efforts to promote national cohesion, enhance public safety and ensure a stable environment for socio-economic development.
