Danish Ambassador lauds Margins ID Group for advancing Ghana’s digital identity and development agenda

Jakob Linulf, Danish Ambassador to Ghana, has praised Margins ID Group for its pivotal role in driving Ghana’s digital identity agenda and contributing to national development.

Speaking during a stakeholder engagement at Margins’ card manufacturing facility, Intelligent Card Production Systems (ICPS), in Accra, Ambassador Linulf described the Ghana Card as a “major achievement” and commended the company for its impact on Ghana’s development. He noted that Margins stands out among African ID companies, positioning Ghana as a model for national identity systems across the continent.

The visit comes as several African countries, including the Democratic Republic of Congo and The Gambia, look to replicate Ghana’s model in their efforts to strengthen digital identity frameworks to drive socio-economic development. “Margins ID Group is famous in Denmark, and you should take great pride in your achievements,” Ambassador Linulf said, adding, “You have our support, and I am very impressed with what I see here.”

He toured the facility alongside Jørgen Østergård Bollesen, Head of Trade, and Linda Kafui Abbah-Foli, Commercial Advisor at the Danish Embassy in Accra.

Margins ID Group CEO, Moses Kwesi Baiden Jr., reaffirmed the company’s commitment to leveraging innovation and strategic partnerships to advance Africa‘s digital identity agenda. He emphasised continued collaboration with the Danish government to deliver secure identification solutions that support Ghana’s leadership in digital transformation.

“The Danish Government should be commended for its contribution to this project, and we will continue to collaborate with you in achieving new milestones. Together, we will innovate, expand, and deliver solutions that meet the evolving needs of Africa and beyond,” Mr Baiden said.

He also highlighted the broader diplomatic value of the partnership, noting Margins ID Group’s support for Danish Constitution Day and other Embassy initiatives as a demonstration of how technological collaboration can strengthen cultural ties and bilateral relations.

From a modest $100 investment three decades ago, Margins ID Group has grown into a technology powerhouse and a symbol of successful international cooperation. Since 1999, Danish support has helped position Ghana as a continental leader in digital identity, with the Ghana Card now recognised as a model for other African nations.
