GoldBod warns public against AI-generated scam videos featuring CEO

The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has warned the public about AI-generated videos circulating on social media that falsely appear to feature its Chief Executive Officer, Sammy Gyamfi.

In a public notice, GoldBod stressed that it will never ask members of the public to send money, transfer funds, pay fees or disclose banking or mobile money details through social media, phone calls or messaging apps.

The Board urged anyone who receives such requests not to engage and to report them immediately through GoldBod’s official communication channels. It also advised the public to remain vigilant and verify information before trusting it.
