GNFS rescues accident victims and contains domestic fire in Volta Region

The Ghana National Fire Service responded to two separate emergency incidents at Ayensu and Asikuma Zongo in the Volta Region on Wednesday, 13th May 2026.

Firefighters from the Peki Fire Station attended to a vehicular accident involving a SINO tipper truck along the Peki–Asikuma Road, where two male victims were rescued after the crew arrived at the scene.

Later in the day, the crew responded to a domestic fire outbreak at Asikuma Zongo involving a three-bedroom thatch-roofed house engulfed in flames.

Firefighters managed to confine and extinguish the blaze, preventing it from spreading to nearby buildings.

The GNFS urged the public to remain vigilant and report emergencies promptly to ensure swift response and protection of lives and property.
