Ghana Prisons Service engages nursing students on crime prevention

The initiative was led by the Yeji Camp Prison Public Relations Unit under ASP Karimu Nurudeen.

The session provided participants with insights into the causes and consequences of crime and highlighted the role individuals and communities can play in prevention.

It also focused on rehabilitation within the correctional system and how inmates are prepared for reintegration after serving their sentences.

Students and staff actively participated in the session, engaging in discussions and asking questions on the prison system and criminal justice processes.

The Principal of the College commended the initiative and called for continued collaboration between the institution and the Prisons Service.

The programme forms part of efforts by the Ghana Prisons Service to engage the public and reshape perceptions of the prison system towards rehabilitation and reintegration.
