He stated that the programme has included the construction of the 5-million-passenger-per-year Terminal 3 at the Accra Airport Terminal 2, along with the expansion and refurbishment of the arrival hall in Terminal 2.

He added that a concourse project linking Terminals 2 and 3 is set to begin shortly, while additional works initiated in late 2024 are expanding the Terminal 2 arrival hall.
In 2025, the scope of works was further expanded to include the Terminal 2 departure hall, which had not been renovated for over 20 years, as well as the entire frontage of Terminal 2 to give it a new look.
He noted that the project has evolved into a broader plan aimed at decongesting Terminal 3 by relocating some regional airlines and select international airlines to Terminal 2 during peak travel periods to reduce queues and ease passenger flow.
According to him, the Terminal 2 redevelopment works are ongoing and are scheduled to be completed within the year, with visuals shared showing the expected final appearance of the facility.
