The Chairman of the Governing Board of Ho Teaching Hospital, Dr Delanyo Dovlo, has commissioned a newly established Paediatric Chemotherapy Suite and a Kangaroo Mother Care Room at the hospital’s Paediatrics and Child Health Department.
The commissioning formed part of a working visit by the Board to the Paediatrics and Child Health and Obstetrics and Gynaecology Sub-BMCs, where members engaged staff and management on their operations, achievements and challenges.

According to the hospital, the two departments made presentations outlining key performance indicators, service innovations, infrastructure needs and strategic priorities aimed at improving patient care and outcomes.
The Board also toured the departments to inspect facilities and ongoing improvements.
The newly commissioned Paediatric Chemotherapy Suite is expected to enhance specialised cancer care for children, while the Kangaroo Mother Care Room is designed to support the survival and well-being of premature and low-birth-weight babies through evidence-based neonatal care.
Speaking at the event, Dr Dovlo commended the staff of the two departments for their dedication and innovation in healthcare delivery.
He reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to supporting initiatives that improve patient outcomes and strengthen Ho Teaching Hospital’s role in specialised healthcare, training and research.
The hospital said the engagement forms part of the Governing Board’s broader strategy to promote stakeholder participation, accountability and continuous quality improvement across its operational units.
