A distress call was received by the Suhum Municipal Fire Station at 1:42 p.m., leading to the dispatch of a crew of eight firefighters led by STNOI Antwi Forson and accompanied by LFM Nyade Gilbert Tettey at 1:45 p.m.

The firefighters arrived at the scene at 1:57 p.m. and found the tanker, with registration number GM 5938-21, upright despite leaving the roadway.

A search conducted by the team confirmed that no persons were trapped or injured in the accident.

The driver told fire officers that the tanker lost steering control after two middle tyres burst, causing the vehicle to veer off the highway.

No casualties were recorded, although the tanker sustained partial damage. Fire officers secured the scene to prevent any potential hazard before returning to base at 2:51 p.m.
