Mr Abu Kansangbata, former Deputy Regional Minister, has lauded Speaker Alban Sumana Bagbin for his recent decision to reverse a parliamentary workshop on the post-, praising it as a commitment to responsible governance and prudent financial management.

In a statement to the , Mr Kansangbata stated, “His recent decision to reverse a parliamentary workshop on the post- showcases not only his institutional memory but also a commitment to prudently managing public funds.

The reversal of the workshop, which was slated to incur expenses, stands as a testament to Speaker Bagbin's commitment to responsible governance.”

Mr. Kansangbata emphasized the financial impact of Speaker Bagbin's decision, estimating savings of approximately GH₵1.7 million. He commended the Speaker for recognizing the economic challenges faced by Ghanaians and taking decisive action to alleviate the burden on taxpayers.

He pointed out the contrast between the explanations provided by the Majority Leader and the First Deputy Speaker, justifying the expenditure at the Rock City Hotel, and the prevailing economic challenges, especially for those affected by the government's policy on Eurbonds.

Mr. Kansangbata commended Speaker Bagbin's principled stance, emphasizing a commitment to the greater good.

In the context of economic challenges, where some citizens face significant haircuts on their Eurbonds, Mr Kansangbata highlighted Speaker Bagbin's commitment to redirecting funds for essential public services.

He urged MPs to prioritize the needs of the suffering, particularly those affected by flooding in parts of the .
