Thousands fill Independence Square for Shatta Wale’s 40th birthday concert “Shatta Fest 2025”

Thousands of fans flooded Independence Square in Accra to witness “Shatta Fest 2025,” a two-day musical extravaganza celebrating Shatta Wale‘s 40th birthday, hailed as one of Ghana’s biggest music events in recent years.

Organised in partnership with MobileMoney Ltd, the festival celebrated Ghanaian music culture in grand style, offering electrifying performances and unforgettable experiences that lasted for hours. The free-entry concert drew such massive crowds that many fans were unable to reach the venue due to congestion.

Dubbed both “Shatta Fest 2025” and “Shattabration,” the event featured a star-studded lineup of artists who joined forces to honour Shatta Wale’s illustrious two-decade career. Music lovers, many dressed in white, sang and danced through the night in celebration of one of Ghana’s most influential music icons.

Among the top performers were Sarkodie, Medikal, Samini, Tinny, Article Wan, Patapaa, Lyrical Joe, Jupitar, and Kelvynboy, all of whom thrilled the crowd with high-energy performances.

A major highlight was the reunion of Shatta Wale and Sarkodie, who shared the stage for a powerful joint performance that electrified the audience.

Shatta Wale’s dynamic stage presence and crowd command were unmatched, as thousands chanted his lyrics in unison.

In the end, “Shatta Fest 2025” stood out as a landmark celebration of Ghanaian music, cementing its place in history as one of the most-attended and memorable events ever held in the country’s entertainment scene.
