Deloitte Country Managing Partner encourages graduates to be agents of change: Ghana News

Mr. Daniel Owusu, the Country Managing Partner of Deloitte, addressed graduates of the University of Professional Studies, () during their fourth session of the 15th Congregation. He urged them to take on the role of being agents of change in society.

During the graduation ceremony in , Mr. Owusu emphasized the importance of continuous learning and the need to adapt to an ever-evolving :

“In embracing the changing phase of your respective careers, you must also recognize the importance of lifelong learning. Your journey as a professional does not end here; it is merely the beginning.

The ever-evolving demands that you stay curious, adaptable, and open to continuous growth.”

Various degrees and certificates from the School of Graduate Studies and the Faculty of Accounting and Finance were awarded to the graduates.

Mr. Owusu advised the new graduates to embrace continuous professional development, pursue advanced certifications, and never stop expanding their knowledge base.

Speaking on the topic “Making an Impact that Matters,” Mr. Owusu encouraged the graduates to use their qualifications to make a meaningful impact:

“We have immense opportunities to make an impact. Three key areas that are essential to making an impact include technological development, adapting to changes in the corporate landscape, and lifelong learning.”

Mr. Owusu highlighted how technology had made it easier than ever to create a significant impact:

“Our generation is witnessing the dawn of a new era – robots are working alongside humans to build cars, deliver packages, and generate electricity. Smart machines are taking up residence in hospitals, shipping containers, and more.”

He emphasized that in this digital age, advances in , machine learning, and automation have transformed the way people work, and he encouraged the graduates to embrace these changes to shape the future of their careers.

The Vice Chancellor of UPSA, Professor Abednego Feehi Okoe Amartey, in his report to the Congregation, outlined significant developments within the university during the 2022/2023 academic year.

He challenged the graduates to be worthy ambassadors of UPSA and expressed gratitude to those who supported them during their studies at the institution.
