The Ghana Police Service has arrested two suspects in connection with a robbery incident that occurred at a jewellery shop in Dzorwulu, Accra, in September 2025.
According to a statement from the Criminal Investigation Department, the suspects,Abubakar Mamoud and Mahmoud Abdul Aziz, also known as Justin Martin,were apprehended on 24th February 2026 at Anyaa in the Greater Accra Region following months of intelligence-led investigations.

The robbery took place on 11th September 2025, when two armed men on a motorbike attacked a jewellery shop near Nyaho Clinic. The assailants reportedly assaulted a shop attendant, forcibly broke through a glass door, and made away with assorted jewellery.
Police investigations led to the identification and eventual arrest of the suspects. A search conducted at their residences resulted in the retrieval of several items believed to have been used during the robbery.
These included a hammer, black face mask, toy pistol, gold detector, diamond detector, weighing scale, backpack, hand gloves, helmet, and two motorbikes.
During interrogation, the suspects reportedly admitted to their involvement in the crime and identified an individual known as Eddy, based in Oyarifa, as the receiver of the stolen items. Police say efforts are currently underway to locate and arrest the said accomplice.
Both suspects remain in police custody and are expected to be arraigned before court on Thursday, 26th March 2026.
The arrest underscores ongoing efforts by law enforcement authorities to clamp down on armed robbery and related criminal activities, while also highlighting the importance of intelligence-led policing in solving complex cases.
