The Ghana Police Service has arrested a 49-year-old man in connection with a viral video in which threats were made against a High Court judge.
The suspect, identified as John Kwabena Owusu Ansah, was apprehended following intelligence-led operations by the Police Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team. He was arrested on March 27, 2026, at his hideout in Antoakrom in the Ashanti Region.

According to police, the video contained threats, abusive language, and allegations directed at Justice Patricia Quansah. Authorities say the content raised serious concerns about the safety of the judge as well as the integrity and reputation of the judiciary.
The suspect is currently in police custody assisting with investigations and is expected to be arraigned before court.
The incident has sparked renewed concerns about the misuse of digital platforms to target public officials, with authorities emphasizing that threats against members of the judiciary will be treated with utmost seriousness.
Police have reiterated their commitment to protecting judicial officers and ensuring that individuals who engage in acts that undermine the rule of law are brought to justice.
